ARTIST ROOMS: ROY LICHTENSTEIN IN FOCUS

ARTIST ROOMS: Roy Lichtenstein in Focus presents more than 20 paintings including works on paper and reliefs by one of the great American pop artists of the twentieth century. Lichtenstein emerged during the 1960s and is renowned for his iconic paintings based on comic strips, advertising imagery, overt adaptations of works of art by others, as well as stylised sea, sky and moonscapes.

The exhibition will showcase the key body of works on long loan from the Roy Lichtenstein Foundation to ARTIST ROOMS collection of international modern and contemporary art, including the painting Reflections: Art 1988, and large-scale screenprints from the 1990s, alongside works drawn from the Tate collection. ARTIST ROOMS was established through The d’Offay donation in 2008 with the assistance of the Heritage Memorial Fund, Art Fund and the Scottish and British governments.
