Get to Know Me
What are the most interesting aspects of your work?
The people I meet! Artists, gallerists, curators, auction experts, interior designers... Each group of people have such knowledge in their field and are happy to share their insights, expertise and vision. I find this so inspiring.
If you could have dinner with 3 artists from the past- who would they be?
I would have dinner with Chagall, although my French is horrendous. He must have been so joyous, as his paintings exude, love, colour and the fantastical. I would also invite Leonora Carrington, because of the sheer wondrous craziness of her art . And finally Henry Moore, because I adore his work - both sculptural and the amazing underground paintings during the war.
Tell us about the most recent / last piece you acquired?
I saw a wonderful solo show at Marlborough Gallery (sadly no more) of an artist called Jemima Stehli, who was a renown performance artist (represented by Lisson Gallery), now turned painter. When the gallery closed, I was invited to her studio. With money from selling a piece of jewellery my mother had given me, I bought a painting instead. I love it!
