Dr. Ute Eggeling and Michael Beck established their gallery in the Villa Beck in Leipzig in 1994. The villa was transformed into a showroom for modern art by 19th and 20th century masters and contemporary artists. It also provided a forum for exploring inter-disciplinary art forms and probing the affinities of visual art and music.
In 1998, Ute Eggeling and Michael Beck decided to leave their location in Leipzig and pursue their international gallery program in Düsseldorf and New York. At the turn of the millennium, the gallery finally moved into its current premises on the ground floor of an 18th century city palais in the heart of the historic old town of Düsseldorf. A permanent program of consistently high quality works of Expressionism and 20th century masters has allowed Beck & Eggeling to establish themselves as a leading name in the international art market.
