Bernheimer Fine Old Masters

In 2005 Bernheimer Fine Art Photography was established as a separate department within the Bernheimer gallery. Run by Blanca Bernheimer, it has built a solid reputation with a series of exhibitions of outstanding 20th-century photographers, such as Irving Penn, Horst P. Horst and Robert Mapplethorpe. The department also works with a number of contemporary photographers including Nick Brandt, Silke Lauffs and Veronica Bailey. Through an ongoing program of thematic exhibitions, Bernheimer has presented photography in dialogue with Old Master paintings with the aim of exploring new perspectives on both art forms: while photography re-introduces Old Masters to a younger audience, the paintings provide a context for photography as an established art form. Bernheimer Fine Art Photography participates in a number of international art fairs, including Paris Photo and Masterpiece, London.
