Jennifer Cross is an artist and educator who has served as Chair of Visual Art at Ross School since 1994. Jennifer earned her BFA from the University of Minnesota and her MFA degree in Painting from Pratt Institute. She has exhibited her own work widely and is recipient of a number of awards including a New York Foundation for the Arts Grant in Painting. Her teaching experience includes positions the University of Minnesota and Long Island University. From 1985-1990 she was the Director of the East Hampton Center for Contemporary Art where she curated over 30 exhibitions of contemporary art. At Ross School she helped to develop the Integrated Arts Curriculum and establish the Ross Gallery. She coordinates the exhibition program that gives students the opportunity to curate thematic shows of the work of local professional artists. In addition to teaching Integrated Arts and art electives. Jennifer mentors students for senior projects and guides them in preparing their portfolios for successful admission to prestigious art schools and colleges. For the past 15 years she has been a presenter at the National Art Education Association National Conferences.
