Laura Mann loves identifying connections between people and contemporary art.

She has over a decade of experience in the Canadian contemporary art community, fostering relationships with art institutions and galleries and working directly with emerging and established artists. In 2018, she brought Mason Lane Canada to life, supporting corporate and residential clients across Canada.

Today, as the principal and founder of Pearl Rowe, Laura leads with curiosity, bringing her appreciation for architecture and design to establish a visual language and story in any space. The Pearl Rowe name draws from elements of her grandparents, mirroring the dedication to meaningful storytelling and the intentionality behind each piece of art.

Laura loves helping her clients discover art that not only suits their spaces but invites a whole new perspective of what art means to them.

Get to Know Me

What do you do in the art world?

I am the founder of Pearl Rowe Art Advisory, we consult on residential and corporate projects to source art and build meaningful and unique art collections. For me, art is all about connection and storytelling, I am passionate about introducing people to the world of contemporary art and supporting them as they navigate art collecting with a richer understanding about artists, their materials and practices.

How did you begin your career in the art world?

I completed an MA in Art Business from Sotheby's Institute in London, England. During my time there, I interned at a prestigious, blue-chip art gallery that sparked my love of contemporary art. When I returned to Toronto I worked for an up-and-coming King West gallery. These experiences connected me with the local art community and laid the foundation for later launching my art advisory business.

What are the most interesting aspects of your work?

I love that art and artists are always evolving - as an art advisor, this can be both daunting and inspiring, plus each client has their own personal taste and interests. When I find the right pieces of art for my clients, it's very satisfying - like putting a puzzle together!
