Sharon Chrust has been involved in the Contemporary Art market for over 25 years. In 2003, she started Sharon Chrust & Associates, which provides appraisal and art consulting services to private and corporate clients. Sharon is an executive board member of the Appraisers Association of America and an adjunct instructor at New York University. In addition, she has been a gallery director, a docent at the Whitney Museum of American Art and worked in public relations for the Cooper Hewitt Museum. Sharon has participated in a number of panels and discussions on art and art appraisal: The Avon Theater, Stamford, Connecticut, ‘Rape of Europa’, Q&A following the film, The Bruce Museum, Greenwich, CT, Art Collectors Forum sponsored by Withers Bergman, ‘The Hidden Perils of Tax, Title and Other Troubles’, panelist, and The Greenwich Arts Council, sponsored by Appraisers Association of America, ‘What do You Own? Art & Antiques Advisory with the Experts’. Sharon has a Masters in Art History from Hunter College, a BA from Boston University and has completed the Certificate of Appraisal Studies at NYU; passing the Uniform Standards of Appraisal Practice Exam in 2012 with a 2 hour update in 2014.
