Spring McManus is an art advisor with over two decades of experience specializing in modern and contemporary art. Combining deep expertise in the global art market with a trusted network of collectors, galleries, and institutions, she provides a full spectrum of advisory services — including acquisitions, sales, appraisals, museum loans, philanthropy, and collection management — all tailored to the individual goals of her clients.
Spring’s practice is rooted in trust, discretion, and long-term relationship building. Many of her clients have worked with her for more than a decade — building collections that evolve thoughtfully over time as their tastes grow and flourish. With integrity at the center of her approach, she advises with a deep sense of responsibility to both her clients and to the artists whose work she champions.
She attends major art fairs, exhibitions, and biennials around the world to stay closely connected to the market, institutions, and new ideas shaping the cultural landscape. This ongoing, firsthand engagement allows her to introduce collectors to artists and works that are both meaningful and well-positioned within art history.
Spring began her career at Christie’s, working in Private Sales before serving as Director of the auction house’s gallery, Haunch of Venison. She later joined Edward Tyler Nahem Fine Art as Director, focusing on modern and contemporary masters.
Over the course of her career, she has facilitated the placement of significant works by artists foundational to 20th- and 21st-century art — from Picasso, Magritte, de Kooning, Joan Mitchell, Basquiat, and Warhol to leading contemporary voices such as George Condo, Yayoi Kusama, and Rashid Johnson.
Spring holds a Master’s degree in Art History, Connoisseurship, and the History of the Art Market from Christie’s Education. She serves on the Board of the Fountainhead Artist Residency, The International Women’s Committee at the Pérez Art Museum Miami, and the Collector’s Board of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami. She has spoken on collecting and the art market for numerous institutions and family offices, including ICA Miami, Pérez Art Museum Miami, CAIS Summit, Faena Rose, and Soho House.

What do you do in the art world?
I work collaboratively with each client to understand their goals, interests, and vision. From there, I advise on every aspect of collecting art — from finding a single transformative work to building museum-caliber collections. Combining deep market expertise with a curatorial eye, I guide collectors toward artworks and artists that resonate with them. I travel extensively to art fairs, galleries, and exhibitions to stay connected to what’s shaping the art world, both historically and today. My approach is highly tailored, ensuring that each collection reflects my client’s values, aesthetic, and long-term vision.
What international art destination do you want to visit most?
At the top of my list are the great Earth Art sites, including James Turrell’s Roden Crater, Walter De Maria’s The Lightning Field, Nancy Holt’s Sun Tunnels, and Robert Smithson’s Spiral Jetty. Stay tuned - I am planning a guided retreat designed to expand our awareness of place and invite a meditative connection between art and nature.
