Stephen Ranger is Vice President of Business Development and Senior Specialist, Concrete Contemporary Canadian Art. An industry leader and recognized specialist, Stephen Ranger has worked in the art and auction business for 25 years as an auctioneer, appraiser and consultant. Stephen pioneered the sale of Fine and Rare Wine at auction in Canada by forming a partnership with the LCBO in 2001, a venture that has gone on to realize over 25 million dollars in sales at auction. Stephen has been involved in some of the highest grossing auctions of Canadian art in the last decade with sales of over 100 million dollars. In addition, he contributes his time to over 20 charitable and fundraising auctions each year netting over 2 million dollars for community causes.
Stephen’s appraisal clients include OCAD University, the Royal Ontario Museum, York University and a host of other institutional and private clients. Stephen was educated at the University of Toronto and has been a regular lecturer at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London, and the Royal Ontario Museum and is a frequent commentator on the art market for the national media.
