Victoria Burns

Victoria Burns, a Northwestern University graduate in art history, has shaped her career with over 30 years of expertise in the international art market. She currently divides her time between the Los Angeles and New York offices of Victoria Burns Art Advisory (VBAA).

With a deep commitment to building collections that reflect each client’s unique vision, Victoria specializes in guiding private collectors to acquire works that align with their personal tastes and are well-positioned to retain or grow in value. Her private clientele spans major U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, New York City, Miami, Dallas, Phoenix, and Driggs, ID, where she provides tailored, expert advice on Modern and Contemporary Art across all media.

In addition to her work with private clients, Victoria consults for prestigious corporate and institutional clients, enhancing their fine art collections and developing educational programs. Her notable clients include the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine, the MacArthur Foundation, Harris Associates, Children’s Memorial Hospital, Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and Hines Developers.

Victoria is an Executive Board Member of The Association of Professional Art Advisors. Believing passionately about supporting artists as part of strategic philanthropy, she is also a Co-Founder of Angeles Art Fund.

What do you do in the art world?

I educate and advise both new and experienced art collectors on acquisitions of Modern and Contemporary Art, sourcing art work from major dealers from around the world.

What are the most interesting aspects of your work?

Shaping a collection around my clients’ interests and passions.

What are the most challenging aspects of your work?

The sheer size of the art world is massive and successfully culling through the material to access the best works by the most important artists of our day is a challenge, but functions as the core of my work.
