Get to Know Me
How did you begin your career in the art world?
My career path in the art world has been non-linear. When I graduated college, I started off as a qualitative analysis for a boutique investment advisory firm in Boston. Finance was not fulfilling for me, however, and I took a risk applying to the Sotheby's Institute of Art Master's Degree program in New York (SIA was partnered with the University of Manchester, England at the time). I was accepted, moved to New York, got my first art world internship at a major arts magazine, and began working at Sotheby's while I was in the midst of preparing my Master's Thesis Dissertation. I completed my thesis, graduating with honors, and remained at the auction house for over a decade working in the Latin American art department. I then made the decision to become independent, and have been using my expertise to perform fine art appraisals and highly specialized art advisory services to collectors of Latin American art.
